Google uses some sophisticated algorithm to calculate the share that will be given to you. It depends on the number of clicks that is made to your ad or number of impressions that is made to your ads. Some ads might give you $1 per click that entirely depends on the ad that Google posts and there is a way to put the highly paid ad in you page by selecting proper keywords like Earn Online, Sex etc.

You will get paid not only based on clicks but also based on number of views also. E.g.. for some ads Google will pay if your ads are viewed 1000 times or 1000 impressions. Once your earnings reaches $100 a check will be sent to you to the address mentioned in the AdSense account .

What is the difference between views and impressions

Suppose you have a page with 5 ad blocks in it if the page is viewed once then the number of views will be one and number of impressions will be 5, if the page is viewed 10 times then the number of views will be 10 and the number of impressions will be 50 and so on. This doesn't mean that you have to fill up your page with ads. Make sure that the site is content rich and place the ads in proper places.
