Era of Smart phones

I should say that we are gifted to live in the era of smart phones, a few years back we don't have much of a choice to make in terms of smart phones but now we have tonnes of choices to make. Nowadays its very hard to make a decision of which make to choose or which technology to choose. In early 2000s Symbion was ruling the smart phone world but as old saying that no empire will last for ever, the era of symbion started to decline when IOS, Windows CE, Android pitched in.

Processing speed

When the smart phones entered the market the processing power was slightly higher than a hundred MHZ but now it increased exponentially to 1.5 GHZ with multiple cores. I remember my first smart phone was symbion and it had 64 MHZ processor but now I own a Nexus 4 which have snappy quad core 1.5 GHZ processor. Don't be amazed of the quad core processor Samsung has announced a oct-core processor lately and its alleged that the new S4 will be powered with this new beast.
When I say processor its not actually a computer processor its an ARM processor. ARM processors are equivalently powerful to a computer processor but with less power consumption.

Here is the sample list of existing and upcoming mobile operating systems,
Android
IOS
Windows
Taizen
Ubuntu

In the above list one OS stands out and that is Ubuntu.

What is so cool about Ubuntu

Ubuntu is well known for its stability and clear looks and thinking of the same ruggedness and looks on a mobile is unavoidable. Ubuntu has successfully demonstrated in CES that a dual core phone can be used both as a phone and a computer. The motto of ubuntu says "In every dual core phones there is a computer trying to come out".

This is something new and no one has ever thought of. Canonical thinks that the dual core device can be used both as smart phone and computer. The idea of ubuntu is the dual core hand sets will act as phone as well as a PC, but how? The hand set will normally act as a phone but there is a special dock when you connect the phone into the dock you will have ports available to connect a monitor, mouse, keyboard so that you can use this as a fully functional computer a ubuntu desktop, you can surf the web, edit documents and wait the documents, media contents will be available to you even when you are on the go. Now as a phone and a PC the possibilities of the hand set is humungus.

As I already said the new mobiles are powered with quad core processors and multi core GPUs the real power of the processors can be unleashed only if it is powered by Ubuntu.
